Congressional Review Act Window Exploratory Dashboard

This dashboard allows users to explore the set of final rules published in the Federal Register in 2024, and how various lookback dates could affect the set of rules potentially available for congressional review at the beginning of the next session of Congress. The dashboard’s default start date reflects the earliest estimate of the Congressional Review Act lookback date from the beginning of 2024. Based on historical trends, the lookback window is likely to fall in late July or early August. Please see Notes at the bottom of the page for additional information. 

Rules will not be available for review under the CRA if they are published in the Federal Register and submitted to both the House of Representatives and the Senate before the lookback date. This dashboard pulls data only from the Federal Register. As such, the dashboard is intended to be a useful reference for rules that might be available for congressional review under the CRA. For confirmation about an individual rule, please refer to the rule’s publication in the Executive Communications section of the Congressional Record, accessible via congress.gov.
