International Regulatory Cooperation in Practice

The conference featured senior officials from the European Commission, current and former U.S. government officials, stakeholders, and the authors of recent studies on US-EU regulatory cooperation:

• US-EU Regulatory Cooperation: Lessons and Opportunities
  • Former government officials examine how cooperation has worked in practice between U.S. regulatory agencies and their EU counterparts from the U.S. DOT, FDA and CPSC. The report also includes an analysis of U.S. regulations likely to have significant effects on international trade and investment.
     
• Learning from Experience: Three Case Studies in International Regulatory Cooperation
  • Administrative law scholars draw on extensive primary research to craft three case studies of transnational regulatory cooperation involving the U.S. FAA, PHMSA and FDA, working with their foreign counterparts to address shared safety risks.
